Startup accelerator Ignite100 has added former Love Your Larder founder Tristan Watson to the team.
In a blogpost published on the site, programme director Paul Smith revealed this morning that Tristan had been recruited ahead of the accelerator’s third run later this year.
Tristan has experience of accelerators, having taken his own startup through the second Difference Engine in 2011. Love Your Larder was designed as an online market for artisan producers, giving local food sellers the chance to sell their wares to a wider audience.
It gained nationwide attention, and even began delivering monthly mystery packages of such items called Larderboxes. It announced in February that it was closing due to a lack of resources.
Tristan will be working with the existing team of Paul Smith and Lyndsey Britton at Ignite100, and will also be looking to expand its activity into events and education.
Paul said:
“Plenty of you will know Tristan as the founder of Love Your Larder and Larder Box; aside from first-hand experience of the highs and lows of startup life, Tristan is an alumni of The Difference Engine – the accelerator programme that preceded ignite100. As well as working with teams joining the programme and our new startup incubator, Tristan will be heading up events and educational programmes for ignite100, putting into practice his extensive experience of event management.
I genuinely can’t think of anyone better suited to the role than Tristan. He’s a loyal friend, a presence for good and is passionate about the future of the region’s digital industry.”
Ignite100 recently announced it was looking to chat to potential teams before applications next month. It’ll be back later this year.
